to enter Columbia’s History PhD program. It was the toughest decision I had to make in my life so far.
I decided to speak the Osakan dialect when I communiate in Japanese from now on because: 1. I would like to challenge the legitimacy of the nationalized standard Japanese. 2. I have a stronger/harsher personality when I speak my dialect, and I like it.
