Note From Tech Support

Posted on Tuesday 20 September 2005

Hey everyone. This is Sayaka’s personal technical support engineer. The hosting company of ChinaJapan.org, where this blog was located lost all their data. We had a backup of the contents of Sayaka’s blog database from early August but re-installing Movable Type is turning out to be really complicated. I have installed a new blog here on SecurityGirl.net which is run by a different hosting company. Temporarily, you won’t be able to read Sayaka’s old entries, and it may take me some time to find out how to get all of her Movable Type postings out of the database and into wordpress, which she’ll be using from this point on. However, at least you will be able to start reading her new postings again. Eventually I will import in the old postings. The few postings which were not in the backup database were in google’s cache, so we have all the postings in some format or another!

You can also still view older postings Sayaka made, up to March, 2005 which are still lurking online here: Old Sayaka Archives up to March 2005

Hi, Sayaka. The same thing happened to my blog since Mitch was graciously handling mine too. I lost a couple of entries, but since I don’t post as much as I should, I didn’t lose as much as I might have. (I don’t know if that’s good or not…)

You can look around here http://www.alexking.org/index.php?content=software/wordpress/themes.php in the meantime if you want a more interesting design for your site. I did the same, and just changed the picture in it to one of my own.
